Originators of Swag

Just in case we forgot where it came from

A Little Better

Hey Ladies!

Can't talk about the well dressed men without giving one to the fly femmes. I know the boys are trying to step their game up, but it's the girls that really show them how it's done.
I mean, who do guys try to look good for in the first place?...As they should.

Check out some of my favorite fashion risk takers and trend makers. Soccer Mom?

Best Accessory? The Boy Toy

I know it's trite...but no question

I think she's pretty much the product of an amazing stylist,
but it seems like she has some great instincts.

This chick is certainly not a follower

Let's give little sister her props, she's one of a kind

What is it about Men?...

I'm am so happy that the whole sloppy, wearing shirts that look like nightgowns and the GROSS sagging pants trend is over. (Of course there are those few that just can't let it go, but we'll pray for them)

Over the past few years the trend that has taken off is men dressing like MEN.
And it is an understatement to say I like it. (I love it)
For me, there's nothing sexier than a guy with a confident presence that steps into a room and everyone notices. He's dressed nicely, well groomed and he knows it. There's nothing wrong for getting noticed for all the right reasons.

Now what you don't want to be noticed for is being the guy that looks like he played ball all day and just decided to keep the sweaty stuff on, or worse, the guy that picked his clothes out of the hamper.
Just a little effort may go a long way fellas...you never know who's watching.

She just Breaks my Heart

We all know this chick has her problems, but I can't dismiss her. I was an Amy Winehouse fan long before I knew about her personal issues. It's her music that I can't get enough of. I still listen to Frank and Back to Black as much as did when it first came out.

My favorite songs of hers include Just Friends, Some Unholy War, Cupid, Round Midnight, Help Yourself, What is it About Men? and Mr. Magic (through the smoke) just to name a few.

I credit alot of her sound to Mark Ronson, but Amy's definitely a star. I just pray that she's around long enough to keep making music.

Check out one her earlier performances...

Say What's Up to Marvin

If I ever had to make a list of my favorite Artist of all time, I would be lying if I didn't say Marvin Gaye was my number ONE.
Music has always been a staple in my household, so I grew up listening to Marvin. It wasn't until I was older that I rediscovered and could fully appreciate what had been around me for so many years.
With all that's going on these days (wars, economy, global warming, etc.) it's so crazy to me that Marvin's 'What's Going On?' album can still serve as commentary for today, just as it did in 1971 when first released. The title track single and Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) spot on to what the social and political climate is of 2008.

Unfortunately, Marvin, like most talented people, lead a very tortured life which was tragically cut short in 1984. The true mark of a legend is when their work lives on long beyond their lifetime, obviously Marvin made the mark.

Times are hard

Since many of us are hurting due to the struggles of the economy (blah blah blah) it's hard for some of us champagne taste fashion addicts to thrive with less than Kool-aid money. Well speaking as a reformed Snooty-poot (or SNOB if you like),I have found a way to sort of remedy the issues of my rapidly sinking budget.

The Buffalo Exchange- a nationwide(USA) branch of consignment shops that not only allows customers to shop at SUPER cheap prices, but also bring in old lightly worn items of clothing and sell them for cash, or trade them in for other items found in the store.

Now I know some people are thinking " Uhh Uh!! I will not be buying anybodies used SH*%!"
Trust me hunny, I don't blame you. Like I said, I'm reformed. I do have my limit (Used Shoes are a Definite NO-NO for me)
But if you have a ton of old clothes from the ghost of high-school past(wheww...11th Grade can be summed up as TACKY) why not get rid of that stuff and make a few bucks for it?
I find it good for simple pieces like accessories, they have a great array of belts, bags and jewelry. I also think that you can luck out and find some cute tops, jeans, and dresses. I found a cute little black dress for $7, can't be mad at that.

For more info and store locations ch-ch-check out there website: http://www.buffaloexchange.com/index.htm

I feel like I'm nOwHeRe

Kenna! Love him, really, I do.
This is probably his most main stream song. Wouldn't call it a hit, but he did perform this on Ellen and Letterman. (you can find on Youtube)

Oh yeah... Let me know what you're listening to, new or old. I love suggestions.
